Meet Debbie Ritter – Principal
Welcome to CCSD Preschool! I am excited to be joining the preschool family as the principal over the Ralph Bunche, Holly Springs, Johnston, and Oak Grove campuses! It is an honor to serve in schools that have been part of our Cherokee County School District for many years and am thrilled to be adding the Holly Springs campus to our program, so that we can best serve our community in all four quadrants of our district. I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that includes all stakeholders and ensuring that we make our first school experience for our early learners the best it can be!
As a 22-year educator, I taught Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade general education classes, as well as Special Education for grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. I began my career in Bibb County (Macon), Georgia, but have spent the majority of my teaching career in Cherokee. As a teacher at Boston Elementary in Woodstock, I was Teacher of the Year, then moved on to CCSD’s Division of Curriculum and Instruction in the Department of Special Education. In this position I was a teacher leader, instructional learning specialist, professional development trainer, and advocate for student learning and achievement.
As an instructional leader, I value the relationships and the partnerships between teachers, students, and parents. This lays the foundation for a positive learning environment. I am thrilled to be working with our preschool children and look forward to building an environment that promotes social emotional learning and the opportunity to show students just how much we care for them!
My family and I are proud to live and work in our county and in our spare time we enjoy time at the lake, beach breaks, travel baseball and “Tomahawk Chopping” along with our Atlanta Braves!
Looking forward to a great school year with our phenomenal staff, wonderful students, and amazing families!
Angela Moody – Assistant Principal
Angela Moody is honored to serve as Assistant Principal over Cherokee County Preschools. Angela has been an Assistant Principal for five years both at the Middle School level and the Elementary level. Prior to being a school-based administrator, she taught Pre School Special Education and worked for the Office of Special Education as Teacher on Special Assignment for Autism and Behavior Disorders.
Mrs. Moody loves supporting students, parents and teachers. Her door is always open, and she believes that strong relationships with students, families, and teachers help make a school a safe, fun place for students to learn and to grow! She is excited to be involved in early intervention for Pre School, as this is where her love of education began! ❤
